Terms of Service

By downloading or using Gathering Saints ("the app"), you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. About Gathering Saints

Gathering Saints is an independent mobile application that helps members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints find local groups and events built around shared interests. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Gathering Saints. Users under 18 must have parental or guardian consent. By creating an account, you represent that you meet these requirements.

Accounts for users under 13 require verifiable parental consent and are subject to additional restrictions under our Children's Privacy policy.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and truthful information when creating your profile
• Not share your account credentials with others
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
• Use your real name and a genuine profile photo

4. Community Standards

Gathering Saints is a faith-based community app. You agree not to:

• Post content that is abusive, harassing, threatening, or discriminatory
• Share sexually explicit, violent, or otherwise inappropriate content
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity or affiliation
• Use the app to solicit money, promote commercial services, or spam other users
• Attempt to access other users' accounts or the app's backend systems
• Use the app in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations

We reserve the right to remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these standards, at our sole discretion.

5. In-Person Events & Safety

Gathering Saints facilitates connections between users, but we are not responsible for in-person events organized through the app. By attending or organizing events, you acknowledge that:

• You participate in in-person events at your own risk
• We do not conduct background checks on users (though group leaders may disclose that they have)
• You are responsible for your own safety and the safety of any minors in your care
• We strongly encourage following the Church's two-adult rule for any activities involving youth

If you witness or experience unsafe behavior, use the in-app incident reporting feature or contact us directly at safety@gatheringsaints.app.

6. Group Leaders

If you create or lead a group, you additionally agree to:

• Accurately represent your group's purpose, activities, and membership requirements
• Ensure that safety disclosures (background checks, youth protection training, two-adult rule) are truthful
• Take reasonable steps to maintain a safe environment for all members, especially minors
• Promptly address reported incidents within your group

7. Content Ownership

You retain ownership of content you post. By posting content, you grant Gathering Saints a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display and distribute that content within the app for the purpose of operating the service. You may delete your content at any time.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the app will be available at all times, error-free, or free of harmful components. We are not responsible for the conduct of other users, whether online or offline.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Gathering Saints and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app or attendance at events organized through the app.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these terms. You may delete your account at any time through the app settings or by contacting us.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the app or email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
